Directly Call a Voicemail Inbox Instead of Talking to Someone

Make phone calls without actually speaking to anybody with SlyDial

If you’re anything like us, you don’t like talking on the phone.  Life, however, occasionally requires you to call other human beings using a telephonic device (hello, Mother’s Day!).

For those of us with avoidance issues, there’s slydial, a service that automatically directs you to a person’s voicemail when you make a phone call.

To use the free service simply dial 267-SLYDIAL (759-3425) from any landline or mobile phone.

At the voice prompt, enter the mobile number of the person you want to know that you called but don’t want to speak to. You will be directly connected with his or her voicemail.

Their basic service allows you to make calls for free, though you will have to put up with ads.

For $2.95 a month you can get their premium service, which nets you a rapid connection to voicemail without ads, dial-by-name, and the option to download their mobile apps (for iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile smartphone).

When you don’t have the patience to talk, try slydial.
