Now Tubalr plans to combine the two in an effort to resurrect both.

Like Pandora for music videos, the site generates lists comprised either entirely of your favorite band’s videos or a mish-mash of artists with the same musical qualities.

Last.fm’s infrastructure provides every group’s autobiographical information along with the ability to listen to entire genres in the hopes of stumbling onto a new favorite band.

But where the site really shines is live performances. For example, we created a playlist of our favorite videos from the genius site La Blogotheque, which films guerilla concerts from the likes of Arcade Fire (in an elevator) and Bon Iver (in an abandoned apartment).

There’s no sign up necessary to use Tubalr, but creating an account enables you to sock away favorites and share playlists of your own.

Music videos. What a novel idea.

Seems a bit high.

But if you really want to take advantage of it, you can start using Giftiki. The new site is the digital equivalent of “going in on a gift.” Except you don’t have to pick anything out. You don’t have to collect money. And the contributors are everyone you know on Facebook.

Here’s how it works: Log in online or with the iPhone app and see a list of Facebook friends’ upcoming birthdays. Pick a pal and choose an amount you’re willing to chip in (ranging from one buck to a ten spot) then loop in mutual Facebook friends to do the same.

Several small, though generous donations later you have an impressive fund, which the recipient can convert into a gift card right through Giftiki.

It’s no hundy billion, but luckily it’s the thought that counts.

But if you try sometimes, you might find, making lists with Wantworthy to save all the cool stuff you find online will help you get what you need.

Or something like that.

In any event, that song was onto something. And curating an Internet-wide wish list is easy with Wantworthy’s handy bookmarklet, which adds items from any web shop to your dream haul with a simple click.

Categorize picks by type and add them to a collection: “Basics,” “Favorites,” and our personal favorite, “When I’m Rich.”

You can also add to your anthology from Want Worthy’s selection of Monthly Picks like the Splurge and Save, which features nearly identical items form opposite ends of the price spectrum.

The hardest choice? Deciding what to actually buy.

But like that other song says, “Shoppin‘ ain’t easy.”

Joining the two is ParkatmyHouse. The service – which has helped over 40,000 Brits rent out their precious paved real estate – is now taking applications for its stateside operation.

ParkatmyHouse gives driveway owners access to its online booking system, where you can set availability or enable Instant Bookings (making your space a veritable parking meter).

Drivers looking for convenient spots can enter the location they need to park near and see a map of available spots comparing cost, proximity, even reviews from previous users (“Nice landscaping!”).

For now, those looking to list their driveway can see the estimated value of their driveway, while drivers eager to find spots can sign up to be notified when the service launches in their ‘hood.

Until then, we recommend circling the block one more time.

Easily track the candidates’ trending habits, color-coded election results, and breaking news sorted geographically for your convenience.

Browse articles by popular issues like the economy (you may have heard of it), healthcare, and immigration. A dedicated YouTube hub highlights each day’s top five videos.

Feeling not-so-bi-partisan? The On the Ground section features crowd-sourced content of citizens confronting politicians and ralliers getting rallied up.

Which reminds us, did you hear about the candidate who owned a bagel shop?

He was running a real schmear campaign.

We’ve been banned from all electronic stores in a 15-mile radius.

To make finding cell phones, tablets, TVs, laptops, or cameras incredibly easy, Sortable only displays the best matches to your specifications for the amount you’re willing to spend.

Not sure what you’re looking for? Easily compare top-rated devices (you might be surprised to see four tablets ranked higher than the iPad2) and narrow down your list by must-have features and sacrifices you’re willing to make.

There’s also a standalone comparison method to see how the new goody you’re eyeing stacks up.

Registered users have a Wikipedia-like ability to update and edit device specifications, and Sortable is currently accepting suggestions on which product category they should branch out to next.

Our local car dealership will be happy to hear it.

On the minus side, the Internet has introduced you to scores of people you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

Separating the good from the bad is Neiio. The site pulls contacts from Facebook, Linked In, Outlook, and Gmail and allows you to sort them into custom groups. Once built, those groups can be exported and uploaded to email accounts, cell phones, and address books.

If creating groups is too much work, use the site’s Clever Groups tool to automatically sort contacts based on the links between them (think family, college friends, co-workers, etc.).

Neiio is still in beta, so expect Google+ integration and other features to be added as the year goes on.

For now we’re just happy we met them.

Also known as One Size Larger Pants season, Constant Sugar High season, and Awkward Glances from Co-workers season.

So this time around we’re shooting for moderation with the help of RoutineTap. It’s an incredibly versatile progress-tracking site offering customizable daily questions and answers that automatically generate charts and graphs to quantify your entire life.

In our case, we set up measures to track cookie consumption (in the hope that 43 boxes will last a whole year), weight gained, and hours lying awake in bed at night.

The less cookie-obsessed can use RoutineTap to curb, encourage, or simply track everything from spending habits to hours in the gym. Set up multiple questionnaires to see the correlation of your habits, like the effect of four cocktails on your Facebook activity.

The important thing to remember is to not try to steal our Thin Mints — we know exactly how many we have left.

Not so fun to count: calories.

Which is the real marvel ofMyFitnessPal: It makes tracking what you eat a downright enjoyable endeavor. The app – available for iPhone, iPad, Android, even Blackberry – uses a massive nutritional database and intuitive tools to manage your daily caloric intake.

Set a target weight and see an at-a-glance summary of your progress along with the day’s remaining calories. As you eat, enter items manually or use the barcode scanner for packaged goods. With over 1,100,000 foods, MyFitnessPal’s database almost assuredly has info on your entry. (We tried stumping it with Sonic’s limited-time-only Baja Dog. It’s there. And it is not healthy.)

For extra reinforcement, friends can track your progress. But if this is a personal challenge, detailed nutrient statistics ensure you have all the information you need in your palm. An assortment of charts and graphs scientifically prove your dedication is worth it, even if you can’t tell.

The proof is in the fat-free pudding.

(We’d fact-check that if Wikipedia weren’t down.)

But thanks to IM Creator, designing your own site is no longer a mystery.

The turnkey service offers surprisingly handsome prefab templates, each of which can easily be tailored to the most granular level. No feature has been overlooked, from SEO optimization and Google Analytics tracking to social media buttons and embedded Google maps. Sites are optimized for all browsers, both mobile and stationary.

Generic URLs are available for free; custom domains (which include ten personalized email accounts backed by Google) cost extra. But IM Creator has generously offered to give away a lifetime supply of domain hosting to one lucky Netted reader. To be in the running, send your name and contact info to contests@netted.net by midnight tonight. We’ll throw a dart at our inbox and contact the winner tomorrow.

Then we can finally put the age of questionably designed websites behind us.

To make an intolerable situation even worse. 2. Having to pay a late fee on top of your credit card bill.

See also: ouch.

Here with a much-needed remedy is Manilla, a blissfully free service that wrangles all of your bills into one place and keeps track of due dates so you don’t have to.

The site pulls your accounts – including credit cards, cell phones, utilities, and loans – into a clean, easy-to-use interface that shows you what’s due when. Electronic copies of your bills are available for viewing, and Manilla even archives them for future reference.

And since the service only requires one password (which uses bank-level protection), gone are the days of logging into a dozen different sites just to check in on your finances.

The kicker? Manilla even tracks rewards programs (you know, the ones you’ve totally lost track of) as well as deal sites like LivingSocial and Groupon to assemble a comprehensive list of your coupons.

Which is the definition of convenience.

Then, iTunes.

Everyone’s Mixtape takes us back to the glory days. Virtual mixes are restricted to 60, 90, or 120 minutes (fantastically old school), though you can add any song from YouTube, SoundCloud, and Vimeo with a simple drag and drop (decidedly new school).

Add songs to a tape until the site tells you it’s full, rearrange the play order for optimal impact (track #3 is most important, obviously), and then share it with the world via Facebook and Twitter, or with a single person via email.

Sure, it’s not as personal as handing it to them, but it’s a heck of a lot more convenient.

Unless you’re trying to do it with a bunch of passwords you’ve forgotten.

We’ve been test-driving a solution for just that problem called Dashlane, a free download that uses one super strong master password to store the sign up information for every site you visit.

Upon returning, you’re automatically logged in. When registering for new sites, it can even generate and save random passwords so you don’t have to.

The service works for all types of sites, from email and social networks to bills and banking. But where Dashlane really shines is shopping: It keeps multiple credit cards on file, stores screenshots of purchased items, and records how much you’ve spent per card.

Dashlane is still in beta, but since we love you so much, we’ve secured invites for Netted subscribers. You don’t even need a secret password.

By now, finding important, relevant information is supposed to be easier than shooting fish in a barrel.

But who needs a gun when there’s Trapit?

Freshly out of private beta, the site lets you set “traps” to gather breaking news for specific topics – like Google Alerts meets RSS feeds meets Pandora (as you thumb up or thumb down articles, Trapit learns and tailors its results accordingly).

Of course, the amount of content surfacing depends upon the relevancy of your filters: “GOP Presidential Race” is understandably hot right now, while “Water-Skiing Squirrels” is not.

Your everyday Web search of, say, “Esquire magazine” will result in three pages of the most-clicked links from SEO-tastic sites. But a trap for Esquire produces fresh content from the magazine itself comingled with indiscriminate mentions from sites big and small.

All of which should make surfing for the good stuff a whole lot easier.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t jump the shark.

Shirtify has devised a novel solution for people taking the shirts off artists’ backs: Put their shirts on yours.

The subscription-based site syncs with music services like Spotify, Last.fm, Pandora, and Rdio; quarterly or monthly plans deliver four or 12 shirts from the bands you’ve listened to the most. Their three-shirt sampler offers instant gratification for those who hate waiting.

Shirtify pays artists full price for the tees, which goes a long way to support their music. Since labels make money on record sales and streaming sites offer a pittance in royalties, merchandise is the best way to show bands the love while funding their next record.

All the technology in the world can’t replace a rockin’ t-shirt.

So you finally have more resolutions to address than gifts to return.

Now, where to start?

Clockblock helps prioritize your lists to clearly find the first step. Tasks with the nearest due date float to the top, and items you’ve indicated as important appear twice as big. If a due date falls more than a week out, that entry sinks to the bottom and is displayed in gray.

Since most achievements can be broken into smaller pieces (e.g. buying avocados to make your world-famous guacamole), to-do lists are divided into tasks. But to prevent information overload when viewing them all, each list’s elements get the same color so the sifting process takes no more than a glance.

Once you’ve finished an item, simply click the appended minus sign and you’re ready to move on to your next assignment.

It’s our gift to you that will make accomplishing this year’s resolutions almost too easy.

Creating an entry is simple and straightforward; the only flourish is an optional pop-up reminder for up to two days prior.

Android users can download the Days Left Widget, which lets you pin windows to your wallpaper in three different sizes. Important entries can get prime real estate on your home screen, while lesser ones (like ho-hum Tax Day) can be relegated to screens one or two swipes over.

Both Timenotes and the Days Left Widget can be used to track days since an event as well as days to, which is handy for monitoring resolutions. For example, it’s been three days since we counted down to anything.

We’re already slacking.

Unless you’re playing Buy the Best Tickets at the Lowest Price, in which case winning isn’t everything – it’s the only thing.

Consider SeatGeek your secret weapon for victory. Dubbed a “ticket decision engine” by co-founders Jack Groetzinger and Russ D’Souza, the site aggregates listings for concerts and sporting events from sites like StubHub, RazorGator, TicketsNow, even eBay.

The results are plotted on a floor plan of the venue using a color-coding system that ranks entries on a scale of “ok deal” to “best deal.” Scroll over each dot and up pops a photo showing the view from that seat.

On top of that, there’s a forecast tool that uses loads of data (historical sales, teams’ records, popularity of venue, etc.) plus a fancy algorithm to suggest whether you should pull the trigger now or hold out for a lower price.

Because in the end, it’s not whether they win or lose: It’s how much you paid for the game.

And then progress in the note-taking department kind of stopped.

Two plucky tech guys out of Ann Arbor are attempting to change that with Fetchnotes. The service works two ways: If you’re at your computer, go to the site and jot down your thought. If you’re on the go, send a text message to your account (even easier if your phone has voice-to-text).

With a Twitter-like functionality, Fetchnotes compiles and categorizes your jottings according to hashtags (think #giftlist, #todo, #hookedupwithatholidayparty). Notes with similar tags are lumped together for easy organization.

Right now, the site is in beta. Deep beta. So deep that the group functionality (using Twitter-reminiscent @ mentions to loop in other list participants) isn’t finished yet. Nevertheless, we’ve secured invite codes for Netted readers so you can watch as Fetchnotes continues to get even more awesome.

Write it down: You heard it here first.

The good news: This problem is curable.

After the Deadline is a browser plugin that finds spelling and grammar mistakes in text boxes all across the Internet. Facebook posts, tweets, emails, blog comments – type as you normally would, click the small icon, and your errors are underlined and correctable with a few clicks.

There is a Firefox add-on and a Chrome extension; other browsers can use a simple drag and drop bookmarklet. For larger chunks of text, paste the selection into the online tool and clean it up in a jiff.

In the fight for proper diction and syntax, call it modern warfare.

Really complicated.

Hatch, a new social coordination app, is streamlining the process of getting you and your pals in the same place at the same time.

Create an entry with the basic details: who and what (e.g you and your college buddies having happy hour drinks). Once a plan is hatched, the app distributes invites via email or text message; your mates (well, the cool ones) respond to let you know “they’re in.”

You can include a time and place to get things started; your friends have the ability to make suggestions and put ideas up for a vote. Once the details are set (don’t worry, you can edit them any time), users can save the date to their calendars.

And just like that, a great plan is born.

If you are Streaky Mastering – a London-based digital finishing studio that transmits entire albums to clients like The White Stripes, Kate Nash, and Usher – you create your own tool (and name it after yourself, obviously).

Streaky allows users two options for sharing large files. The basic method has you landing on the homepage backed with music-themed wallpapers and completing the simplest of tasks: Choose as many files as you want (up to two gigabytes total), then enter your recipients email address. Streaky automatically sends the download link.

Option B is where things get interesting. Download the free Streaky desktop app and send files directly from your computer to anyone else who has the app installed – no size limit, no waiting. The app even files away your transfers into sent and received folders where you can keep tabs on your work.

Frankly, it’s music to our ears.

Yeah, we didn’t think so.

Contrary to your pals’ opinions, it (along with your other amateur films) is totally salvageable using Magisto. The new site offers a simple three-step process for turning videos of any length into veritable highlight reels.

Upload your file, give the project a title, and add some background music (either your own or Magisto’s stock tunes). Then sit back and let the algorithms go to work. The software automatically cuts less interesting parts and combines what’s left into a montage of scenes seamlessly woven together using cuts, fades, and other fancy editing tricks.

As a serious tool, Magisto rocks. As a vehicle of artistic expression, it may rock even harder. (Our downloaded tornado chaser video backed by Adele was eerily poignant.)

Either way, your films will be memorable.

When you’re the overseas correspondent for Lion Tamers’ Quarterly, there are generally more pressing issues than remembering your business cards. Especially if you also publish an email about better living through the Internet in your spare time.

So instead of business cards, we use Contxts. When your newest acquaintance texts your username to 50500, they’ll get a reply with the contact information you’ve uploaded. Besides your name, email address and phone number, it also includes a link to your profile with your employer and official title.

And if you have an iPhone, the Contxts app will add all your new best friend’s complete information to its contacts list. You can also send it via email, phone number or username from within the app. Or, if it’s too loud to explain everything, hold your iPhone sideways and it’ll show your username and the number to text.

Because we can’t always remember to carry cards, and because not all of us are quite as recognizable as Siegfried or Roy.

As we can see from all kitten photosets on Tumblr, pop art is more focused on animal-centric artwork now than ever before. And beholders are fooled into thinking art is more beautiful by computers controlled by mice on a daily basis.

Harnessing that power and sweetening photos has never been easier than with Psykopaint. An array of brushes let you add the trademark brushstrokes of some of your favorite painters as if they’d been personally reincarnated to drone away happily on this year’s honey of a family photo.

It’s deceptively simple and provides more and more treats as you continue to experiment. A couple of tools like Brushes, Spraycans or the Crazy Cannon all have adjustable sizes and specific settings (so your photo looks like a Sisley or Seurat and so on).

Each tool has keyboard shortcuts affiliated with it, too, so you can quickly switch between pixelating a tiny area or adding a honeycomb of effects across a wide swath. Exporting, sharing or saving to take a stab at later is then another couple of clicks away.

We’re just glad to have the opportunity to spread the sweet nectars of our minimal labor and brilliant artistic vision. Yet, we’re still having too much fun editing to let our bee-holder potraits roam beyond our loving care right now.

And if we at Netted prefer to try out our recently-trained carrier pigeons, well, we’d hope you’d respect that.

Protocol.by is the latest offering from MIT’s famed Media Lab and the Harvard Berkman Center that can make your life better. The idea is simple: you select from a list of ways to reach you, rank them, and viola, you have a Protocol. It tells people how you’d prefer to be reached so you don’t get a phone call when you’d really, really prefer just to text.

You can add comments to let them know that you’ll be available to gchat, say, between ten and two. Once you have everything set up, Protocol.by gives you the code to embed your Protocol in your webpage. And sign up fast to get a good customized address (Protocol.by/YourNameHere) to share your protocol with others.

Our only complaint is that they don’t have carrier pigeon on their list. Let this count as your notice.

According to most scholars, Erwin Schrödinger will probably never leave the top of PETA’s “Worst Scientists” List. No one is willing to forgive him for trying to prove that seemingly contradictory states can occur at the same time by boxing up cats.

Unlike Professor S., you can make things happen humanely at the same time by using a very simple countdown timer called itsAlmo.st. Every countdown you dream up generates a unique URL you can share with your friends to coordinate activity.

Besides turning synchronizing into a minute task, setting up a string of countdowns in one session is infinitesimally difficult when you click the “New Countdown” button. The “My Countdowns” option traps all your new ones in case you entangle the wrong links while spreading countdowns among your networks.

Or, use them as a personal reminder system, but don’t forget to keep them open until the physical alarm begins waving at the top of your browser. Most of ours are just time limits to make sure we don’t waste too much time wondering why people ever let Schrödinger adopt their cats in the first place.

Without them, we wouldn’t have things like clean Gmail inboxes, that song “Take a Picture,” or delicious coffee.

Hipmunk’s filters for finding a hotel will perk you right up, as their streamlined search and clean map interface make travel planning way easier. It’s the same system that has proven so incredibly popular for finding flights, now with a comprehensive hotel search to complete the package.

Hotel results are easily sorted by price range or Tripadvisor reviews. And Hipmunk improves on the traditional search results with “heatmaps” that display concentrations of food, bars, shopping and more to help you decide which neighborhood is right for you.

They’ve thought of all the amenities you could need, right down to childcare, currency exchanges or the presence of in-room coffee makers.

We assume coffee filters are included.

But ever since Mick Jagger told us to get off of his cloud, we’ve been afraid to spend too much time up there trying to look for things.

But everything has had a silver lining since we signed up for Otixo. By syncing cloud services like Google Docs, Dropbox and MobileMe there, you can easily search and find any file you’ve uploaded from one central location.

Once you’ve found the files, you can delete them or share them across platforms and services without complicated downloads and uploads—right from the Otixo dashboard. It even generates links so you can share files with friends, family and coworkers for thirty days.

With the time we save on a daily basis, we can pull our head out of The Cloud and go to bed or take a drive downtown when we’re sick and tired and there’s not a soul around.

We just love the way they look. And the fact they protect you from the mind-reading x-rays is just gravy.

We’ve finally found a stylish and secure way to chat online that fits our hip/paranoid lifestyle: Cryptocat. With Cryptocat your chat stays secure behind a secret chatroom name, code names and a giant encryption key you pick. It offers more protection than even industrial strength Reynolds Wrap.

Best of all, the site is super-fast and the design is super-clean: there’s nothing complicated or fancy to distract you. And after thirty minutes of inactivity, all your data is completely wiped from their servers.

We’ve been using it to keep our newest business model a secret: cardboard shoes. Hey, if metallic hats can become a thing, why not?

No one really liked it because the steam power kept the whole process agonizingly slow and the moisture kept ruining the pages.

Reading might have recently moved to the Internet, but it was still shockingly slow until Readfast showed up. It takes entire articles and only displays one scrolling line of text at a Words Per Minute rate of your choosing.

You start with a test to find your baseline reading speed and can take quizzes to verify not only that you’re reading fast, but also that your comprehension is still up to snuff. As you begin to practice more, you’ll be surprised to watch your average WPM increase right before your eyes.

Their bookmarklet lets you turn any article you’re reading into a speed-reader’s dream come true. Or you save it for later, browse popular articles and track your progress.

Combining our new fast-reading skills with our preference for slow food means that we’re able to finish the entire morning’s paper before the coffee is even done brewing.

Here at Netted, we use the internet for more than better living. It turns out there’s a lot of stuff to read on there, too. So much so that our reading list tends to grow even faster than our dirty sock pile.

Thanks to Float, though, we’re back on track. Part RSS reader, part social network, and part document aggregator, Float lets you find, save, and share anything and everything you’d want to read on the web.

You can browse articles and books by interest; share items through Facebook, Twitter, and Scribd; and save things to read for later using their simple bookmarklet. There’s also an iPhone app (with iPad and Android versions in the works) that’ll let you access and share the things you’ve saved when you’re away from your computer.

Using Float has made our entire internet experience better. We no longer have a thousand tabs open in our web browsers with articles we plan on reading later, we’re not forced to continually resize the texts on our iDevices, and it feels like a pleasure instead of a chore when someone sends us something interesting to read.

Best of all, things are formatted with reading in mind. You’re not looking at a clunky webpage; you’re reading some nicely styled text. And the reading experience is super customizable, with variable text sizes and layouts to make things easy on the eyes.

Now that we’re finally on top of all our reading, there’s a laundry pile waiting for us. Good thing we’ll have something to read at the laundromat.

Sometimes weight loss feels a little like Hansel & Gretel come to life: we try to lose the weight, and it finds its way back via a trail of breadcrumbs.

Fortunately, we’ve found the equivalent of an invisibility cloak: by using Calorific to track no more than portion sizes and ratios of foods, we have retrained ourselves to eat a whole lot better. It’s a very simple app for iPhones and Androids that lets you track your consumption without guilt or complicated calorie plans.

Start by establishing goals and entering some very basic information about yourself, and they’ll provide the information you need to take off the pounds (and eat better). They’re not going to hound you about working out or eating too much bacon because people make mistakes and bacon is the best.

The focus is on a healthy diet so you can look up meals by name, but it’s actually easy to categorize how much you’ve eaten by estimating portions and how good they are for you– great, okay, and bad. Calorific also has a guide for this and, with practice, it becomes so second-nature that documenting each meal doesn’t have to be more than button presses.

The only challenge left for Netted’s collective weight loss battle is to break our addiction to croutons. It just keeps coming back to haunt us.

Since the add-on is constantly running, there’s no need to do anything except visit the site as you normally would. It’s like someone gave Craigslist a much-needed makeover.

This still doesn’t mean we’re going to stop listening to the Cranberries’ greatest hits while surfing the Internet, though.

Country music? Country-fried steaks? Skirts? Skirt steaks?

Well, they’re all on OpenSky and it turns out they would all probably be talking about their favorite sales. OpenSky’s a whole new marketplace bringing together experts and celebrities to create a highly customizable shopping experience.

You can pick and choose which curators to follow, from Alicia Silverstone and Molly Sims to Guy Fieri and Tom Colicchio. Each one gives you special access to limited-time sales on products they like and wholeheartedly recommend.

Tons of sales are spread across food, health, design and style categories, so you can easily sort by your interests to find sales you’ll love. Whether it’s Ming Tsai’s ceramic knives or Cynthia Rowley’s sunglasses, there’s always something popping up on sale that the experts can’t live without.

Netted readers can get in on the action with a $10 OpenSky credit just for signing up. Plus, one lucky reader who signs up will win a $500 gift certificate to use on the site.

We’re off to cook up Tom’s Wagyu beef — no gravy necessary. Or was it hop on the gravy train and start beef with Tom? We’ll probably figure it out later, but our priorities right now are all deals all the time.

Using a credit or debit card is like committing a crime while sleepwalking: you never know what you’re going to get charged with. And as much as we’d like, pouring over billing statements each month is becoming too time consuming.

Thankfully, BillGuard adds a layer of security to our credit cards that our eyes could never offer. It scans your credit and debit cards daily and alerts you to hidden fees, billing errors, forgotten subscriptions, scams and fraud.

Simply register the cards you want protected. BillGuard scans the web for complaints posted by others about similar charges and merchants that appear on your bills. Instead of personally reading over your bills line by line, you’ll receive a monthly scan report via email indicating how “clean” your cards are. Of course, fraud, scams and alerts of any serious nature are emailed immediately so you can take care of them right away.

The scan learns by keeping track of places you frequent and the charges you approve to improve its accuracy. And since these are your credit and debit cards we’re talking about here, BillGuard uses the same security measures as your bank to ensure security.

It saved us enough time to locate a sleep therapist. We’ll be cured of committing sleep crimes any day now!

When it comes to speedily responding to emails, we like to think we’re right up there with the C.C.s of the World; C.C. DeVille writes beautifully with the tips of his fingers and C.C. Sabathia always knocks it out of the park.

So imagine our delight when we found a reminder service called FollowUp.cc. By simply sending correspondence to the email addresses they provide, you can prioritize your email and follow up later on important emails.

Want examples? If you need to follow up in 12 hours, just BCC 12hours@followup.cc in your email response. Need to get in touch on Monday? Monday@followup.cc should do it.

You get the idea. There are hundreds of email reminder formats to choose from, and each will generate a reminder to follow up, whether its minutes or months.

Plus when you log into the site, there’s a monthly calendar waiting with all your reminders, and a set of snooze buttons that can delay your response as long as you’d like.

Followup provides a free thirty day trial for their personal accounts, but Netted readers can receive an additional free personal month. After you sign up, just forward this email to contact@followup.cc for your extra month.

Now that our email’s under control, we finally have time to get the band back together. We’re thinking of calling it “C.C. Revival.”

When we were kids, we loved comic books. Especially The Flash. So imagine our excitement when we were told to make flash cards for the first time. You can also imagine our disappointment when we got our grades back.

Our study habits have come a long way, and we’ve started using StudyBlue for all our grown-up learning flash card needs. The sites lets you create digital flashcards with audio and video that can be accessed anywhere, along with your notes and practice tests.

Beautiful charts track your progress and illustrate how many cards you get right all the time, sometimes or never. After checking your progress, StudyBlue automatically sets you up to study the cards you missed, so you can focus on learning from your mistakes.

And since not everyone does their best studying in front of a computer, StudyBlue’s Android and iDevice apps let you take all your flashcards with you, even when your phone isn’t connected to the web.

Link your StudyBlue account up to Facebook and you can post status updates telling friends you’re not responding because you’re busy or ask them to remind you to get back to work. And if you’re more of a traditional studier, StudyBlue can send you a reminder email or SMS message.

Frankly, StudyBlue has every tool you need to learn things like new languages or musical notes faster than you can say, “The Scarlet Speedster just saved my life.”

The most difficult days at the Webby offices are always Bring Your Kids to Work Days. Whereas everyone else shows up with their children, we just keep showing up with our goats.

But for all the people with human kids, RedRover on Android and iDevices will help you easily find the nearest petting zoos and open patches of grass. By adding fellow parents as friends on the app, you can view your upcoming activities and schedule play dates.

Running late? Dropped Timmy’s ice cream down the well? Ran out of Chia Pet seeds? It has a Twitter-like feed that allows you to share breaking kid news with other parents who need to know.

It also curates activity suggestions from local experts, so there’s an instantaneous solution when the kids enter their “I’m bored” broken-record-phase. Best of all, it has a location-based list of nearby emergency rooms, just in case.

It’s a beautiful and convenient way to keep your kids social and active. It certainly beats letting them stay in front of the TV, idly chewing their cuds.

For a lot of adults, “Back to School” is just an awkward excuse to get a new pair of sneakers. But the end of summer can also mean a new opportunity to get it together, as it were.

ApplyMate helps anyone looking to make a job change by organizing the hunt.

The site is like a one-stop organizer, letting you add all the positions you’ve applied to and create tasks and follow-up reminders, to make sure you’re following up on every single opportunity. Plus, you can store site- or job-specific deadlines, logins and passwords within your account.

The site is perfect for college students who need a giant checklist to help keep track of all the components of an application like transcripts, recommendation letters and equestrian snowshoe trophies.

We especially like the ability to set customized goals and get email reminders to help keep you moving in the right direction.

We’ve been so productive, we’re setting new heights for things to achieve. Our new goal is is to have “Back to School” renamed “Back to Life, Back to Reality.”

Though they’re not serving any beverages, Ecosia is a magnificent and beneficent way to quench your thirst for knowledge while helping the environment. Powered by Bing and Yahoo, Ecosia is a search engine with reliable results that also donates a huge chunk of their profits to work in the Amazon.

Every time you click on an advertisement in Ecosia’s results, Bing and Yahoo send their profits back to Ecosia. Twenty percent of that income is used to maintain Ecosia and the rest goes to an Amazon rainforest protection program supported by the WWF.

All you have to do to help every single day is change your default search bar, and occasionally click on a sponsored result. It’ll go toward WWF Brazil’s efforts to preserve the Tumucumaque region and its rainforest preserve roughly the size of Switzerland.

Ecosia is setting the search bar pretty high. Almost as high as our tolerance for our own puns.
